About

Fans of Japanese sweets may be familiar with dango, rice flour dumplings eaten on a stick. Mitsudango are similar to the dango eaten throughout Japan but unique to the Oarai area. Mitsudango are made with wheat flour instead of rice flour giving them a lighter texture, and served with a sweet sauce made from sugar and soy sauce. The dumplings are then topped with kinako, a sweet powder made from soy beans.

Mitsudango have to be eaten straight away so freshness is guaranteed - at Takahashi, you can watch your dango being made while you wait.
